Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Website URL or handle — the identity you enter is shown on the public leaderboard, whether you're playing Free Ranks or claiming a category position.
• Email address (optional) — if you provide one when claiming a category position, we use it to send your payment receipt and, if needed, to help us find your claim if you contact support. Free Ranks games don't require an email at all.
• Game scores — the scores you submit while playing, tied to your session.
• Basic page-load analytics — for each page load we record a one-way hash of your IP address (never the raw address itself), the referring page, and a country code. This is used only to understand traffic patterns, not to identify individuals.

What we don't collect

We don't require an account or a password for either product. We don't store your payment card details — category claim payments are handled entirely by our payment processor, Polar.

How your data is used

Your website/handle and scores are displayed publicly on the leaderboard by design — that's the core of the product. An email you provide for a category claim is used only for the payment receipt and support. Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand site usage.

Session storage

Your session or claim token is stored in your browser's local storage so you stay recognized across page reloads. It is not shared with other sites.

Third parties

Category claim payments are processed by Polar; their handling of your payment information is governed by their own privacy policy.

Data retention

Leaderboard entries, scores, and their associated website/handle are kept indefinitely as part of the historical leaderboard, since removing them would alter the competition record. Contact us if you'd like your entry removed.
